Hey #Name#

It is so very important to proofread your work.
This post today is not meant to shame the sender of this email we received this week, but rather we hope it serves as a gentle little reminder to always take one last look at your work before sending it out. Even if you have already taken one last look.

This is a screenshot of an email that was sent to the 25bikes office this week. It is one of those automated email messages that are sent out to a subscriber base. We are fans of these pseudo-personal emails (we like the idea of using your subscribers' names in your Subject Line). But, something has gone haywire in this one.
Clearly, where it says #NAME# it was supposed to say "Joe", but either human error or technology made a wee mistake. Unfortunately, in this case, the generic #NAME# makes this email look more impersonal than if that space was intentionally left blank. And the fact that it's in the Subject Line makes it all the more obvious.
This error is not the end of the world, and it certainly won't bankrupt your business. We all make mistakes. But you don't get too many freebies. If you make this mistake more than once, potential customers will flag you as a business that doesn't pay attention to important details.
Check and re-check your work twice, three times, four times, fifty times. Have your wife read it. Show it to your kids. Walk away from it for an hour and re-read it again. That's how you catch the little mistakes.
Sincerely,
